Oct. 6 job fair opens doors to veterans, people with disabilities, and the public
Employers offer resume advice, mock interviews

BOULDER – More than two dozen Front Range employers with 700 potential job openings will provide advice and conduct mock interviews at a job fair next week tailored to veterans and people with disabilities.
The annual event is co-sponsored by the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR), Workforce Boulder County, and the Colorado Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR). It will take place Tuesday, Oct. 6, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at UCAR’s Center Green auditorium at 3080 Center Green Drive in north Boulder.

"We are excited about the quality of employers that are attending this year," said Randy Schalhamer, UCAR’s talent acquisition manager. "They will be helping job seekers with their resumes and interviewing skills." Staff from Workforce Boulder County and the DVR also will be providing information about their services at the fair.
Schalhamer said the fair reflects UCAR’s continuing dedication to assisting military veterans and people with disabilities. The job fair will be open to the general public after the first hour.
Employers represented this year include Allied Barton Security Services; AECOM; Alpine Lumber; Ball Corporation, including Ball Aerospace; Boulder County Workforce Center; Children’s Hospital Colorado; City of Longmont; Denver Water; Doubletree by Hilton; Elevations Credit Union; FirstBank; GE Control Solutions; HUB International; Jeppesen Sanderson Inc.; Level 3 Communications, NEON Inc.; National Renewable Energy Lab; Shamrock Foods; Terumo BCT; Return Path; UCAR (which manages NCAR, the National Center for Atmospheric Research); University of Colorado Boulder; Wells Fargo; Western States Fire Protection; Winter Park Resort; and Woodward Inc.
