Super Science Saturday returns on Nov. 1 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for a super-powered day of discovery! This year’s theme is "Heroes Assemble" and we invite science lovers of all ages to join forces to explore hands-on science activities and demonstrations.

This annual science celebration will take place at the U.S. National Science Foundation National Center for Atmospheric Research (NSF NCAR) Mesa Lab Visitor Center in Boulder. The event is organized by the UCAR Center for Science Education and co-sponsored by Friends of the National Center. UCAR is the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research, which provides education and research services and manages NSF NCAR under sponsorship by the National Science Foundation.

Featured activities include weather balloon launches, science magic shows, weather face painting, NSF NCAR Wizards performing science demonstrations, and more. The agenda is now live on the event website. Superhero attire and science-inspired Halloween costumes are welcome! 

"Whether you’re a seasoned superhero or a budding sidekick, everyone is invited to come and strengthen their science superpowers by learning about our natural world," said Katie Wolfson of the UCAR Center for Science Education. "This is one of our favorite events of the year, and we’re excited to spend it with the local community." 

The planning team encourages visitors to carpool, bike, or hike to the event. If parking reaches capacity at this popular event, cars will be allowed in on a one-car-in, one-car-out basis. Please plan accordingly.
