Five new universities also join consortium

Thomas Hauser has been named director of the Computational & Information Systems Laboratory (CISL) at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR).

Five researchers at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) and the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR), two UCAR trustees, and a distinguished NCAR retiree have been recognized with fellowships and awards from two prestigious Earth and space science organizations. The eight awardees are being honored by the American Geophysical Union (AGU) and the American Meteorological Society (AMS) for their innovative contributions to the field.

The U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) has renewed its agreement with the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR) to continue managing the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) for another five years. UCAR, a consortium of 122 North American colleges and universities, has managed NCAR since its inception in 1960.

Bonnie Meinke has been named the new director of external engagement and business development at the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR).
